If you’re interested in home improvement, a good place to start is by experimenting with color schemes. You can do this by getting swatches from your local paint store, or using a variety of online color scheme websites and apps. Doing this can be creative and fun, and inspire you to think of ideas you might not have had if you had focused on details like furnishings straight away.

If you heat with a wood stove, smoke will cause your walls to become dingy and you will need to repaint more often than if you heat with a furnace. When you do repaint, it is worthwhile to wipe the walls and ceiling down with a damp sponge to remove as much soot as possible before putting on a new coat of paint. Keep your partially used can of drywall compound from drying out between uses! All you have to do scrape and wipe the insides of the can down to the surface of the remaining drywall mud. Next, pour just enough water onto the mud to cover its surface. Before you use it again just pour off the water and it will be as good as new!

Install screen traps or drain covers on all of your sinks and tub drains. Most home plumbing calls are about clogged pipes. These can be caused by debris, especially hair, washing down the drains. Putting in a trap means that you can clean this debris off before it ends up in the pipes.

Do not put your hand in the garbage disposal to remove a clog. This can be potentially harmful. Always use tongs to get out whatever is stuck in the disposal. Using tongs is much safer, and you will make sure your hand does not get cut on the disposer’s sharp blades.

Where Is The Tastiest Street Food In The World?

I have been, I think, pretty much everywhere on the planet except maybe the hot spots (Afghanistan/etc). I don’t want my ass shot off for no reason or taken hostage or what not. So, not yet :-)

Other than that I think I have been pretty much everywhere else and I had a thought – where was the best street food in all my travels. Ahh, that was a hard one because I could not pick between fast food in Chicago and seafood on the streets of Singapore. Singapore won in the end. Just look at those pics.. too bad they don’t convey the taste or even the smell (sniff and scratch cards not attached).

So, you can get absolutely best spicy shrimp soup directly on the streets, in a small diners and, I think, those taste the best! And the spices!!! I have to say, I love spicy food so it was a real paradise for me there.

If you decide to go inside restaurant, you can have really luxurious meal of grilled seafood delicacies mixed with spicy vegetables and I bet you will experience such a spice mix and taste that you won’t forget it ever. It’s almost like famous Chicago pizza’s (yes, that’s where you get the best pizza, not in Italy!).

And, what was really cool – if you go off the main tourist streets, you can find small places where local people eat – that’s where you get the best Singapore street food – few blocks off the main tourist traps :-) Small food marts will fill the street with fabulous spice smells and various grilled delicacies being prepared. Just love it!

I was staying in Sleepy Sams bed and breakfast when I was in Singapore – yes, it’s a budget place (just about 60$ per room) but it was clean and nice. I got to take photos of maids because at Sam’s they have excellent part time maid service and cleaners from Part Time Cleaner Singapore will pick up your laundry and return next morning clean and pressed and all smelling nice :-). Ahh, those were the days and that was probably one of my most memorable trips to Asia.

Here are some pics I took from the staff that helped me while I was staying there:
